Pike Fly Fishing
Fly fishing for pike has surged in popularity in recent years, and it’s easy to see why. No other fish matches the pure savagery of a pike, and the thrill of catching a large one near the boat is unforgettable. Adrenaline, a touch of fear, and elation are all part of the pike fly fishing experience.
With a guide and top-notch tackle, boat, and electronics, it’s easy to start catching pike on a fly rod. If you’re an experienced predator angler, let us take you to some of our favorite spots for a relaxed day on the water.
Ireland’s exceptional pike angling opportunities are no longer a secret. The River Shannon system offers the perfect habitat for pike to grow to impressive sizes, and river pike put up a harder fight. Pike fly fishing is available year-round in Ireland.

Trout Fly Fishing
Trout and Ireland are synonymous with fly fishing. Watershed Fly Fishing primarily guides on tributaries of the River Shannon in Ireland’s Midlands. Our season runs from March 1st to September 30th. Many locations are off the beaten path and require a good level of fitness. Fly fishing for trout on small, overgrown rivers is challenging but rewarding. Techniques vary with conditions, including dry fly, dry dropper, wet fly, euro nymphing, or streamer tactics.
There is a magic to standing in a river, feeling the gentle current, flicking a fly upstream, watching it drift, and seeing a trout rise to intercept it. If this sounds appealing, get in touch today.
Our trout fishing trips operate on a walk-and-wade basis. Due to the intimate nature of the rivers, we recommend one client per guide.

Perch Fly Fishing
Fly fishing methods may not often outperform a well-balanced drop-shot setup, but that doesn’t mean fly anglers have less fun. Quite the opposite, in fact, and sometimes it can be the more effective method. Perch are usually targeted deep, but there are times and conditions when they can be tempted to strike a surface-fished popper!
In experimenting with these methods for perch, we feel like we’re breaking new ground, especially for perch fly fishing in Ireland. If you want to be part of something new and exciting, perch fly fishing could be for you. It can also complement a day of pike fly fishing, offering the best of both worlds.
